Placement Guideline: Requires a minimum 36-inch wide cutout (factoring in required air clearances of 1/8-inch on the sides, 1-inch on top, and 2-inches in the back), a standard 120V electrical outlet, and an active water line. Overall dimensions are 35.75" W x 70.5" H x 36.25" D. As a standard-depth, freestanding unit, it will protrude past standard 24-inch cabinetry. Allow extra side clearance for the French doors to open fully.

The GE GFE28GMKES is a spacious, standard-depth French-door refrigerator designed to handle large households. It offers a massive 27.7 cu. ft. total capacity (18.5 cu. ft. fresh food, 9.17 cu. ft. freezer). The highly organized interior features easily adjustable spill-proof glass shelves, two humidity-controlled crispers, a full-width deli drawer with its own LED lighting, and six door bins (including three for gallon storage). The freezer includes two full-width storage baskets for easy organization.

Premium Cooling & Smart Features

To keep your groceries exceptionally fresh, this model uses TwinChill™ evaporators to maintain completely separate, optimized climates for the fridge and freezer. It also features Turbo Cool and Turbo Freeze settings to rapidly restore ideal temperatures after the doors have been left open.

The exterior boasts a tall dispenser for filtered water, cubed ice, and crushed ice, powered by a space-saving icemaker built directly into the door (with the option to add a second icemaker in the freezer). The entire interior is brightly illuminated by Showcase LED lighting.

Note: This model is ENERGY STAR® certified (utilizing eco-friendly R600a refrigerant) and includes safety features like a door alarm and an external digital temperature display. While it does not come with built-in smart features, it is compatible with an optional WiFi Connect module (PBX23W00Y1) for app integration, and supports Enhanced Shabbos Mode with the purchase of a separate Shabbos Keeper device.
